Undoubtedly Ausangate trek offers some of the most beautiful landscapes of Cusco, with some flora and fauna and also beautiful lakes and glaciers. The journey offers 4 really high points where one can have beautiful panoramic views, As we approach to the mountain one gets impressed and completely understand why the ancient Incas respected this spectacular mountains


DAY 1: Cusco – Tinqui – Upis

We leave Cusco early in the morning and drive for about 2 hours by our private transport to the small village Tinqui (3,800 meters / 12,464 feet) we will pass through beautiful landscapes and several traditional villages such as Urcos, Cattca and Ocongate.
Once we arrive we will have extra time to get acclimatized to the altitude and enjoy our first delicious lunch, after that we will continue trekking to the campsite by beautiful local trail, on the way we will have wonderful panoramic views of ausangate where you can take great photos.

DAY 2: Upis – laguna Ausangate Q’ocha

after our first breakfast we will get Arapa pass(4,850 meters / 15,908 feet) From here we are going to continue down to lake Puqa Q’ocha which is a place with a beautiful turquoise water . Then we will go up to the second pass Apuchata (4,900 meters / 16,072 feet) overlooking the stunning lake Ausangate Q’ocha and turquoise its water,This lake is fed by the snow capped mountain of Ausangate,Here we spend the second night.

DAY 3: Laguna Ausangate Q’ocha – Qampa

From the lake we will ascend to the open pass Palomani (5,200 meters / 17,056 feet) the highest point of the trek. From this we will follow a gentle path into the valley where we can relax and have lunch. By the afternoon we will walk up and enjoy beautiful views of snowcapped peaks until getting the campsite where we will spend our third night.

DAY 4: Q’ampa – Pacchanta

After passing a small community of Q’ampa we will head northwest to the last pass Q’ampa (5,000 meters / 16,400 feet) where we will have the chances to see several lakes of different colors then we descend to a small like where we are going to get our lunch,after that we will finally walk to Pacchanta where we will be able to enjoy its beautiful hot springs for rest of the day.

DAY 5: Pacchanta – Cusco

it is only3 hour walk back to Tinqui, where we will have time to explore this traditional Andean village before taking private van back to Cusco.
