Permits are strictly limited to 500 per day (including staff). We highly recommend booking 4 to 6 months in advance, especially for the high season (May to August).

No. According to Peruvian law, it is mandatory to hike the Inca Trail with a licensed tour operator and a certified professional guide.

It is the highest point of the trek at 4,215 meters (13,828 ft). While challenging, the sense of achievement and the views from the top are the highlights of the second day.

There are basic public toilet blocks at the campsites. Our team also provides private chemical toilet tents. Showers are only available on the third night, but they are usually cold.

Our guides are trained in first aid and carry oxygen. If you cannot continue for health reasons, we will arrange for your safe return to Cusco and help you meet the group later at Machu Picchu by train.

No. Our team of porters carries the tents, cooking equipment, and food. You only need to carry a daypack with your essentials. You can also hire a personal porter for your extra luggage.
