We recommend booking the Inca Trail at least 4 to 6 months in advance, as permits are limited to 500 per day (including guides and porters) and sell out quickly, especially during peak season (May to September).

The dry season from April to October is the best time to visit. May through September offers the clearest skies and most comfortable trekking conditions. However, Machu Picchu is beautiful year-round.

Cusco sits at 3,400 meters (11,150 ft) above sea level. We recommend arriving 1-2 days early to acclimatize, staying hydrated, and drinking coca tea. Our guides are trained to assist with altitude-related concerns.

Most of our tours include professional bilingual guides, transportation, entrance fees, meals as specified, and first aid kits. Multi-day treks also include camping equipment and porters. Check each tour page for specific inclusions.
