Itinerary
Cusco – Palccoyo – Cusco
Your adventure begins with an early pickup at 4:00 AM, followed by a scenic drive south of Cusco to cusipata town where you have breakfast.
later on you will continue to the trailhead for another 2 hrs .
Along the way you will have breathtaking views of the Andean mountains, lush valleys, and picturesque farmlands. You'll also encounter herds of alpacas and llamas, and if we are lucky you may even spot wild vicuñas in their natural habitat.
Reaching the Apacheta viewpoint, we'll begin our walk toward Palccoyo. After just 10 minutes, we'll arrive at the first lookout, offering stunning views of the first Rainbow Mountain—perfect for photos and a quick water break. Another short 10-minute hike takes us to the second viewpoint, where you'll capture breathtaking shots of the second mountain. Finally, after another 10-minute walk, we reach the third and most spectacular viewpoint, the perfect spot for that iconic postcard photo.
After ejoying the colorful landscapes, we’ll hike back to our starting point then drive back down to the lunch place ( cusipata town )
finally we will be back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 5:00 PM.
Stone Forest (Optional)
If you're feeling up for an extra adventure at the third viewpoint, we can extend the hike by 10 minutes to visit the incredible Stone Forest. Here, you'll find unique rock formations and panoramic views from the summit. The short but steep trail rewards you with a stunning perspective of the Ausangate Mountain in the distance, along with all three Rainbow Mountains.

You may find a cheaper tour to Palccoyo Mountain on the street. These tours usually take 20 people in a group with only one guide, making the price lower. The guides are often students still learning and do not carry oxygen. On our tours, we keep the group small, with a maximum of 6 people and an experienced guide who speaks English and our drivers are careful. We offer many more benefits, but these are the most important ones.
You do not need to bring your passport for our one-day trip to Palccoyo Mountain. You can simply bring a copy of it.
Yes, but it is not recommended because our Palccoyo Mountain groups depart from Cusco. If you stay in the Sacred Valley, we can offer you a private service, but there will be an additional charge .
